I have long since documented the adorable dogs here in Peru. Today, however, my body-builder friend, Gustavo, alerted me with delight that Peru is gifting the Obamas with a hairless dog with wrinkly skin.
According to the LA Times, the dog's original name was "Ears" but it will be renamed to "Machu Picchu" upon its arrival to the White House.
Why, you ask, would Peru gift this ugly dog to the future president?
Apparently, the President needs a mascot, and his daughter has bad allergies, making this pup a perfect fit.
I think I would have just gone with a turtle.
