jesus parades
Alex and I trolled around the Plaza de Armas yesterday and saw a Jesus parade pass us by. Apparently, there are many of those around here and this was the first of many we will see while in Cuzco. There were gorgeous dancers in intricate native costumes and men dancing in scary masks. There were signs praising Jesus' glory and also some cool statues of Mary (you can't forget the ladies!). It was hilarious how the Peruvians are unfazed by this ridiculously gaudy display, as they are quite common. The tourists, in the meantime, are snapping away and ooh-ing and aww-ing up a storm.
